However, today I am told ‘not authorized.’ I tried calling SHOP (which is busy) and Customer Service (which says good-bye and hangs up on you) and sat in live chat queue for 2 hours and then was told no one is available to help me when it was my turn…”

Got the same answer, ‘wait and it will come soon.’ Request to talk with a supervisor, eventually she promised to send a special rush request based on my situation. On the 14th of January late evening, I got a call from them and she email me my temp ID. Wow! I am so happy and it won’t work until today. Jan 16, 2014 Start call the doctor to make the appointment…in network doctor–he don’t accept the insurance through Covered California…Call another, another and another, I call around ten different ones. Same answer…if you mention it is the plan through Covered California they will say they don’t have contact with Covered California program…How can I find a doctor? More research later—Why we need to pay for this insurance????? Don’t tell me to wait or call. I really did all the research before I post this.”

I am trying to use the user name and password I created during the registration process however I keep encountering an “Invalid user name or password” error. Instead of simply allowing me to reset my password as most websites do, I am told that I ‘need to a Customer Service Representative, please call the phone number…’ for which I get a busy signal. Then when I try the ‘online chat’ and waiting for HOURS for my place on the queue, I ultimately get a ‘There are no agents available to chat with you right now. Please try again later’ message. I short, all I am trying to do is to log into your website but there is ABSOLUTELY no way for me to do since there is ABSOLUTELY no way for me to get in contact with anyone at Covered California to resolve my user name/password issue. I cannot adequately express my frustration, I am having with your website. As a California taxpayer, I find your ‘customer service’ to be completely and utterly unacceptable. Instead of ‘a day of live music arts, special guest appearances and hilarious skits’ you should fix your website.”

Whenever I try to call, your answering machine answers and then hangs up on me saying ‘good-bye’ without providing any information about any other number I could possibly try to call. Its unacceptable that you simply hang up on the citizens of California without having a waiting queue, without even attempting to answer the phone. It is truly unacceptable. If you have a high call volume, you answer the phones one by one, you don’t hang up on everybody. This is what the employment development department did in 2008…high call volume so we’re just going to cut off our phones! Outrageous. You should be ashamed of yourselves.”

So WTF? You can list any doctors you want but if they say no we don’t accept ‘Covered California’ what is one to do?”

Aimee Pfaff “You sit on hold for hours and hope you don’t get disconnected like I just did after 30 minutes on hold with my 4th call to ‘Covered California’ this week. It is hopeless. Covered CA reps can’t or won’t do anything to help anyone and they have no special # to call the insurance carriers, you can’t get through to the insurance carriers as an agent or consumer and they won’t hire enough people to help resolve all the issues because it would cut in to their profit margins. I am # 104 in the queue on the SHOP line so back to square (one) forced to waste yet another day dealing with this nightmare.”
