Obama’s Watch: Catastrophic Economics and What Post-Ferguson Racial Politics Have in Common

Friday, December 5th, 2014

Wages and HoursWages & Payroll Hours at Anemic Pace

(WSJ) Americans are waiting for a raise, wages have been stagnant since the recession, squeezed family budgets and contributed to the dissatisfaction with the economy–average hourly earnings in the private sector have risen just 2% in October from a year ago, in line with the sluggish trend of the past 5 years and barely exceeding the inflation rate–cost of living.

On the 07 November, I wrote here the U.S. Labor Participation Rate held steady at an historic 36 year low of 62.8% according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Black Unemployment remains at double-digit highs of 10.9% nearly double the national average now six years into Obama’s failed presidency.

The Obama Administration has attempted to divert Americans attention away from their catastrophic economic policies by playing the race card, dividing Americans against themselves and never has this been more clear, since the post-Ferguson Grand Jury decision.

St SabasSt. Sabas–Patron Saint of Generosity –Image: HF Youth Ministry@Twitter

(Catholic Online@Facebook) Few of us share St. Sabas yearning for a cave in the desert but most of us sometimes resent the demands of other places on our time–Sabas understood that.

When at last he gained the solitude for which he yearned, a community immediately began to gather around him and Sabas was forced into a leadership role.

Sabas stands as a model of patient generosity for anyone whose time and energy are required by others that is, for all of us.

How Israel Can Help Solve California’s Water Crisis

Israel 21C(Israel21C) How Israel Can Solve California’s Water Crisis

  • Flashback: On the 15 May, I wrote here if not for California’s wacky environmentalists policies and want for more crippling regulations that are now driving away business investment and opportunity, legislators in Sacramento could have helped out everyone had they invested in the future years ago by constructing life-saving desalination plants along the coastline such as Israel’s Sorek Desalination Plant that provides 26,000 cubic meters or 7 million gallons of clean portable water every hour to over 1.5 million people.

(Agenzia Fides) Some Churches in Iraq Mosul have been transformed into places of detention by ISIS Jihadist Thugs, laying down laws in the Northern city of Iraq since June–in particular according to sources reported by the local news website ankawa.com in recent days, some detainees were blindfolded and handcuffed and transferred to the ancient ‘Chaldean Church of the Immaculate Conception.’

Local sources have told Agenzia Fides that St George Monastery has been seized and transformed into a female prison and there are those who fear that in the premises of the monastery, Women will be sexually assaulted by their Islamic captors.

Flashback: Remember in December 2011 when Obama claimed ‘The Iraq war is over–We’re leaving behind a sovereign, stable and self-reliant Iraq.’

On Monday, the 24 November ISIS Jihadist Thugs used explosives and severely damaged the Convent of the ‘Chaldean Sisters of the Sacred Heart.’ On the 25 November, I wrote here that ISIS blew up St George’s Church and Nunnery in Iraq Mosul to cheers of “Allahu Akbar” by Muslims.

Saint John

(Catholic Online@Facebook) John Spent much of his life in the Monastery of St Sabas near Jerusalem and all of his life under Muslim rule–he was born in Damascus, receiving Classical and Theological education and followed his father in a government position under the Arabs but after a few years, he resigned his position and went to the Monastery of St Sabas.

St John is famous in three areas: (1) Known for his writings against the Iconoclasts who opposed the veneration of images; (2) For his treatise ‘Exposition of the Orthodox Faith’ a summary of the Greek fathers (of which he became the last) It is said that this book is for the Eastern schools where the Suma of Aquinas became the West; (3) As a poet one of the two greatest of the Eastern Church–the other being Romanus the Melodist.

St John’s devotion to the Blessed Mother and his sermons on her feasts are well known.
