Social Evils Denounced

Woe to those who devise wickedness and work evil upon their beds. When the morning dawns they perform it because it is in the power of their hand.

They covet fields and seize them, they oppress a man and his house, a man and his inheritance.

Therefore thus says the Lord – Behold against this family I am devising evil, from which you cannot remove your necks and you shall not walk haughtily for it will be an evil time.

In that day they shall take up a taunt song against you and wail with bitter lamentation and say, “We are utterly ruined, he changes the portion of my people, how he removes it from me. Among our captors he divides our fields.”

Therefore you will have none to cast the line by lot in the assembly of the Lord.  Micah 2:1-5

Prayer In Time of Distress

Lord hear my prayer, let my cry come to You.

You Lord are enthroned forever, Your renown is for all generations. You will again show mercy to Zion. now is the time for pity – the appointed time has come.

Its stones are dear to your servants, its dust moves them to pity.

The nations shall fear Your name, Lord, all the kings of the earth, your glory. Once the Lord has rebuilt Zion and appeared in glory, heeding the plea of the lowly, not scorning their prayer.

Let this be written for the next generation, for a people not yet born, that they may praise the Lord.

“The Lord looked down from the Holy heights, viewed the earth from heaven, to attend the groaning of the prisoners, to release those doomed to die.”

Then the Lord’s name will be declared on Zion, His praise in Jerusalem, when peoples and kingdoms gather to serve the Lord. Psalm 102:2, 13 23

Come to me all you who labor and are burdened and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am meek and humble of heart and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy and my burden light.  Matthew 11:28-30

At that time Jesus said, I give praise to You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for although You have hidden these things from the wise and the learned you have revealed them to the childlike. Yes, Father, such has been Your gracious will.

All things have been handed over to Me by My Father. No one knows the Son except the Father and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son wishes to reveal Him. –Matthew 11:25-27
