Democrat-Socialists Don’t Care What Their Constituents Say

Democrat-Socialists continue to ignore public opinion polls that show among other things:

(a) 2/3 of Americans believe that the Democrat-Socialist health spending bill would make things worse; (b) A majority of Americans believe that ObamaCare will make things worse; (c) Only 1/3 see any benefit to middle class families.

In a related poll, ObamaCare will result in 1/3 of Physicians quitting medicine altogether, resulting in doctor shortages, wait lists for patients and health care rationing.

Currently the United States has the best health care in the world, if the Canadian model is so good why did Newfoundland Premier Danny Williams come to the U.S. in early February for heart surgery?

One Response to “Democrat-Socialists Don’t Care What Their Constituents Say”

I’m so tired of broad brush comments and statements that are laden with emotionally charge labels instead of merely presenting facts.
In response to a few things
1/ There are many Americans who are very supportive of Healthcare Reform. I am one of them. And I feel for the first time in at least 8 years that I AM being heard and no longer disenfranchised. This refutes your statement that Democrats don’t listen to their constituents. In my reality, my Repub leaders don’t listen. It’s quite obvious when my letters to them saying “please vote yes” receive a response saying “thanks for supporting our choice to vote no”.
    2. I’m tired of the attempt to attempt to belittle rather than discuss. Terms like Socialist, for example, are generally used as insults. Isn’t that an immature technique that avoids dealing with facts? I’m also confused by the ferver with which this term is used by people who don’t seem to have a problem accepting their share of the social security pile? Or using Medicaid/medicare. So, is it only socialism when someone NOT republican suggests it? Lastly, I am amazed at the Christian opposition to universal healthcare- calling it evil to provide for all. Esp when I read the new testament’s frequent admonishments to “sell everything and give it to the poor”, and the description of the day of Pentecost when the disciples sold everything and shared it equally. So basically, the original Church were quite socialist. Wonder what they would think of it now?
3/ That survey. I read it. I didn’t see quite what you did. Of course, maybe that’s because there was no breakdown of the random numbers by party. The percentage reporting by party clearly showed those with an issue were republicans. Not democrats – who seemed quite favorable. So if there were only a small number of Democrats in the survey, that would skew the results. Making reports of 2/3s opposed misleading. Other surveys available for review place the numbers closer to 50/50.
But you didn’t mention those surveys. Just the one.
5/ SO TIRED of the “we have the best healthcare” comment. Have you actually read the statistics on our infant mortality rate? It’s at #33 — well below places like Canada, France, Germany – all with universal health care plans. In other ways we are also less successful. And while it is quite nice that a few rich guys from other countries can come to one of our extraordinarily expensive private care hospitals – the fact is that we have more AMERICANS without healthcare than in any other industrialized country. I guess cuz we are the only industrialized country w/o health care. Did you read any foreign press lately? People are cheering that America is finally starting to enter the 20th century (not even the 21st as we are considered so far behind still). And don’t try the “long lines for medical care in other countries” arguement. It’s too easy to see people waiting in our own ER rooms for hours and hours (till they pass out and DIE – rememeber that one?).
All that you have posted are old unfounded arguements made by people who just want to pick fights – not have intelligent discussion.
What is it that you really fear? I can’t see anything but healthier, happier people.
