Pelosi: I Think Congressional Pay Cut Undermines Dignity of the Job that We Have Rewarded

Friday, February 15th, 2013

Nancy Pelosi(The Hill) House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said yesterday that she opposes a cut in congressional pay of $174,900 because it would diminish the dignity of lawmakers’ jobs.

“I don’t think we should do it–I think we should respect the work we do,” Pelosi told reporters on Capitol Hill. “I think its necessary for us to have the dignity of the job that we have rewarded.”

Nancy Pelosi’s comments were made in the context of the looming Obama Sequester which would force across-the-board-cuts that would affect most federal offices including Members of Congress pay–with lawmakers nowhere near a deal to avert those cuts, federal agencies are bracing for ways to absorb them.

Hey Nancy, what causes deficits?

Popcorn Promotion --Economic FreedomCongress Subsidizes Popcorn Promotion –Economic Freedom

(Crony Chronicles) Popcorn is a great snack (that I frequently indulge) many Americans seem to agree since the average consumption of popcorn was 52 quarts per person in 2011

One wouldn’t think that the popcorn industry given the annual consumption of popcorn by Americans, would need any other help from the taxpayers in marketing their product but never the less, Congress in its infinite wisdom, authorizes spending to promote this popular snack food despite our out of control $16.4 Trillion+ federal deficit during Obama’s Watch.

Obama Admin Intends to Ignore Federal Law Requirement to Submit Timely Budget Proposal

Monday, January 14th, 2013

Mein Fuhrer --BrietbartMein Fuhrer Barack Hussein Obama –Breitbart

(The Hill) The White House has informed House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan, R-WI by letter that it will not meet its deadline to submit a budget to Congress timely, despite the Budget and Accounting Act of 1921  which specifies when the White House budget proposal must be submitted.

The Obama Administration blames their shortcomings this time–on tax and spending issues that went unresolved until passage of the fiscal cliff boondoggle earlier this month.

When is the Obama Administration going to begin taking responsibility for anything, without blaming others for their failures?

Obamabonds? White House Won’t Rule It Out

One Trillion Obamabond --Net Right DailyObamabonds –Net Right Daily

(Politico) What does a president give to himself who doesn’t believe that we have a spending problem–the authority to raise his own credit limit and spend as much money as he wants.

White House Press Secy Jay Carney today during his daily press briefing would not rule out the possibility that the Obama Administration won’t mint a $1 Trillion coin to keep its spending spree going.

In 2011, Kurt Brouwer, Chairman of Brouwer & Janachowski a financial advisory firm in Northern California wrote in WSJ/MarketWatch that the U.S. won’t default on its debt obligations if Congress doesn’t raise the “debt limit” despite all of the hyperbole by the dinosaur media and loony liberal lefties–there is sufficient receipts for the government to continue making interest payments, it will just have to prioritize spending if the debt ceiling isn’t raised.
