California Wins Darwin Award --Legal InsurrectionCalifornia Wins the 2012 Darwin Award –Legal Insuurection

(New Geography) For California voters enthusiastic backing of Barack Obama and the Democrat/Socialist-Progressive Party on election day, the bluest parts of America have embraced a program utterly at odds with ones economic self-interest.

The almost uniform support of ‘blue states’ congressional representatives for the Obama Administration’s campaign for tax fairness soak the rich, California represents a kind of bizarre economic suicide pact entitling it to win the 2012 Darwin Awards which commemorates individuals who protect the gene pool by making the ultimate sacrifice of their own lives–Darwin Awards winners eliminate themselves in an extraordinary idiotic manner, thereby improving our species’ chances of long term survival.

California Taxes –Asian Conservatives

(Capitol Alert) Thanks to the passage of Prop 30 last month, job creators in California will pay the nations highest marginal income tax rate of 51.9% should President Obama and Congress fail to do the job(s) they were elected to do and avoid the fiscal cliff according to a new study.

Gerald Prante, an Economics Professor at Lynchburg College in Virgina together with Austin John a Lynchburg Economics student calculated marginal tax rates–the highest tax rates for all 50 states–they combined state and federal and where applicable local municipality  incomes taxes, plus other miscellaneous taxes such as payroll taxes for social security, medicare, etc.

Prop 30 added 3% to the marginal tax rate in California for the highest income taxpayers bringing it to 13.3%–the action raised California over other high taxed states to a marginal rate of 51.9% slightly higher than New York City’s level.

On the 15 November Prante and John’s report was published by the Social Science Research Network.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid Blocks Vote of Obama’s Ridiculous $1.6 Trillion Budget Proposal

Wednesday, December 5th, 2012

Obama 2006: “America has a Debt Problem and Failure of Leadership.”

(The Hill) Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-KY today offered an amendment to force a vote on Obama’s ridiculous deficit reduction plan but Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-NV raised an objection to the amendment, thus removing it from consideration.

Why didn’t Democrats want to vote on Obama’s plan?

Sen. Reid knew that Obama’s plan wouldn’t even get enough votes in the Democrat controlled Senate, just as Obama’s 2012 Budget proposal was rejected in the Senate by a vote of 99 to 0 and in the House of Representatives 414 to 0

Suckers Leap–Fiscal Cliff –Cartoon: Legal Insurrection

(Heritage Foundation) President Obama sent his proposal of $1.6 Trillion in new taxes (besides the already numerous ObamaCare tax hikes set to go into effect early next year) together with $50 Billion of new stimulus spending and plan to unilaterally raise the debt ceiling to Congressional Republicans yesterday, as his “balanced” approach to avoid the upcoming fiscal cliff and ability to continue spending borrowed money that we don’t have, with “promises” of spending cuts later–the problem with later, it never arrives.

Sen Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) couldn’t contain his laughter at the Obama Administration’s proposal offered by Treasury Secy Timmy Geithnerwhen will President Obama and Democrat/Socialist Progressives, begin to take the nations economic woes seriously?

California’s Out of Control Budget Crisis that only a robust Supply-Side Economics Plan Will Cure

Vacant Store Fronts San Francisco

Double Digit Unemployment continues to worsen in California–Statewide Unemployment rose to 12.5% in December, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in Los Angeles County spiked to 13% the California Economic Development Dept reported today.

Out of Business—Vacant Store Front San Francisco

Nearly one year ago, Sarah Palin addressing a Tea Party Rally inquired, “How’s that hopey changey thing working out…”

For the State of California, not very well. Gov Jerry Brown Declares a Fiscal Emergency resulting from a $25 Billion Dollar Deficit over the next 16 months.

“The Budget is crisis is only the beginning of California’s Economic difficulties,” writes Glenn Ray “Regulation is the silent killer of California’s prosperity and much of it is imposed by unelected bureaucrats operating within the bowels of state departments and agencies. The regulatory environment is so uninviting that a recent survey of more than 650 corporate executives ranked it the worst state in the nation in which to do business.”

What are California Democrat-Socialists planning to do—raise taxes of course. Gov. Jerry Brown has proposed new $12 Billion Dollars in higher taxes on income (despite increasing unemployment) additional sales and car taxes, while Assemblywoman Nancy Skinner-Berkley, has proposed a new Amazon Tax which is being sold will add $300 Million to state coffers despite evidence to the contrary from Rhode Island, North Carolina and Colorado that enacted  a similar tax, which generated no additional revenue, while hurting business and stifling economic growth.

Keynesian Democrat-Socialists (Progressives as they like to refer to themselves today) solution of raising taxes–user fees and such will  have negative results, killing opportunity and driving people from the Golden State to lower taxed states.

A robust supply side economic plan instead would help to create incentives for expansion, new job development, economic prosperity while increasing revenue—the Laffer Curve remains true.
