(SCMP) A Chinese literature scholar fears overzealous China regime education officials could ban all foreign textbooks following a call by the Education Minister (Yuan Guiren) for tougher ideological controls.

“Once the top official speaks, local officials in charge of implementing his directives often get carried away” trying to impress their superiors. This could lead them to implement a blanket ban on all foreign textbooks, said Wang Benchao, Dean of Southwest Univ School of Literature on Wednesday.

Yuan also reportedly told universities to free classrooms from remarks that ‘defame the rule of the Communist Party, smear Socialism,’ or violate the China regime’s so called constitutional liberties and laws.

In December I wrote here that subsequent to Michelle Obama’s ‘Mooch Trip’ to China promoting student educational exchanges, China President Xi Jinping called for greater ‘ideological guidance’ (propagandizing) students at universities saying:

Universities have to “shoulder the burden of learning and researching the dissemination of Marxism” calling on authorities to step up the totalitarian party’s ‘leadership and guidance’ in universities as well as to ‘strengthen and improve the ideological and political work’ as the country tighten control of Western values.

Flashback: Following Obama’s trip in November to the APEC Summit in Beijing and his call for a free and open Internet, China Digital Times reported the China regime issued a directive to all media forbidding them to report on Obama’s appeal.

Wang Benchao said it wasn’t realistic for universities to scrutinize every utterance an instructor made, “If we recorded all classes or asked students to file complaints, about defamatory speech, teachers wound not dare to say anything but the words printed in textbooks.”

Geneva Summit for Human Rights –Image: Javier El-Hage@Twitter

(SCMP) Student leaders of Hong Kong’s Umbrella (Freedom) Revolution, told a human right summit in Geneva on Tuesday that the world must stay focused on human rights situation in China and keep up pressure on Beijing to allow for more Democracy in Hong Kong.

Federation of Students Secy General Alex Chow and his Deputy Lester Shum, also said they will not retreat or lose hope in the fight for genuine universal suffrage in the 2017 chief executive election.

Earlier this month I wrote here about Hong Kong’s ‘Freedom Revolution’ — On the 11 November, I wrote here that Obama assured China regime President Xi Jinping, that the White House had no involvement in promoting Freedom and Democracy in Hong Kong.

For 79 days last year, student led protests for Freedom & Democracy took over major streets in Hong Kong in the largest challenge to the China regime since the 1989 Tiananmen Square massacre.

“We have the right to have these things. We have the right to have Democracy –true Democracy and universal suffrage because this is a human right,” said Activist Glacier Kwong.

“What we need is international public opinion to keep watch on China so that they leave Hong Kong alone,” said Lee Cheuk-Yan, an activist arrested during Tiananmen Square protests adding, “We in Hong Kong we have nothing. We don’t have arms, we don’t have anything to protect ourselves. We have just the people.”

Pro-Russian Rebels Hoist Their Flag in Ukraine Debaltseve, Obama Remains Silent

Ukraine Russian Rebels

(WSJ) Ukraine has withdrawn troops from the embattled strategic railway hub of Debaltseve early Wednesday, after pro-Russian Rebels overran the town in violation of the ‘so called ceasefire’ that was to have begun on Sunday.

The Russian Rebel forces say they have taken hundred of Ukrainian Soldiers as prisoners. Ukrainian soldiers reportedly were describing desperate conditions as fighting raged–One said they hadn’t been able to get food or water because of the rebel shelling.

The Obama Administration has been silent on these latest reports. Why should this matter to Americans and our allies?

On March 09, 2014 I wrote here that in 1994, then President Bill Clinton together with British Prime Minister John Major and Russian President Boris Yelstin, executed ‘The Budapest Memorandum’ promising to protect the sovereignty of Ukrainian territorial borders from an invading army as part of the denuclearization of the former Soviet Union.

Why should anyone have confidence in any agreements past, present or future made with the United States when we have a history of reneging on them when it is either politically inconvenient or when we have an appeaser-in-chief for president like Obama, who has withdrawn American GI’s from Iraq and Afghanistan, claiming less than a year ago that, “the Iraq war is over…We’re leaving behind a sovereign, stable and self-reliant Iraq,” only to declare war on ISIS in Iraq less than 1 yr later?

When we have a president who undermines our allies such as Israel and Taiwan, while chummy with Islamic Fascists such as the Muslim Brotherhood, Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani and China regime Marxist Xi Jinping, claiming recently to “welcome China’s peaceful rise,” all the while declaring “the world is less violent than it has ever been.”

Obama seems to live in a world of an alternate reality, based more on how he perceives the world should operate than on how it really is.

Intl Energy Agency: China’s Coal Use Imperils Obama’s Idealistic ‘Greenhouse Gases’ Initiative

Monday, January 26th, 2015

WH ChinaWhite House Announces Obama’s Grandiose Deal
With the China Regime in November

(RFA) In November, the Obama Administration and the China regime supposedly reached a ‘groundbreaking agreement’ on ambitious CO2 reductions, ending years of wrangling.

Under Obama’s tendentious deal with China, the United States pledged that it would cut CO2 emissions by 26-28% from 2005 levels by 2025 while Beijing promised to reach its peak in releases in 15 years by 2030 or sooner if possible–To hit the 2030 targets, the China regime would have to stop the growth of coal use considerably earlier, capping consumption in 5 years or by 2020 according to a  Tsinghua University study.

According to the Paris based International Energy Agency (IEA) annual ‘Medium Term Coal Market Report’ in December, it said that China will not reach a plateau in coal consumption during its forecast period and probably beyond.

Additional coal will be needed for years to meet energy demand during the next decade–the IEA study concludes, that the peak in coal use could be reached by 2019 only in case of unexpected circumstances, such as a sharp reduction in economic growth–even slower growth means China will be burning more than 100 million tons of additional coal with each passing year.

Flashback: Remember in November during the APEC Summit it was China Daily that wrote, “Obama does not have the political capacity and resources to solve issues–he is powerless to solve the structural problems in the United States. Obama has not helped his country secure more global resources…Obama may not accomplish any outstanding achievements in his remaining two years in office because he chose the wrong strategies from the very beginning of his tenure.”

Only in an Obama Fantasyland and in the minds of his gullible minions, would one actually believe that one can trust anything that the China regime pledges.

(RFA) Chen Dequan says that his wife Su Changlan arrested in October and formally charged in December on the trumped up charges of ‘incitement to subvert state authority’ by the China regime following her support of Hong Kong’s Umbrella Revolution now says that she has been denied legal counsel and family visits.

On the 19 November, ‘Women Rights in China’ reported that Su was arrested by the Nanhai Public Safety Bureau accused of ‘provocation’ her lawyer Liu Xiaoyuan has been refused permission to see her twice.

“They told me that it would be ‘inappropriate’ to release the details of the case–I wanted them to make public her state of health but they refused,” said Chen, who had made a formal request for information from the China regime and police on Su’s case.

Su’s lawyer Liu told ‘Radio Free Asia’ that Chen and the rest of the family are naturally are anxious to discover whether Su has been forced to make a confession and they are also concerned about her state of health.

On the 29 December, I wrote here about Han Ying, who has also been taken away by China regime after she publicly supported ‘Hong Kong’s Freedom Revolution’ authorities and charged with ‘picking quarrels and provoking trouble’ and has been detained  at Beijing’s Fengtai Detention Center.

On the 13 January, South China Morning Post reported ‘Umbrella Revolution’ organizers in Hong Kong, plan a new march for freedom and democracy on the 01 February, 50,000 people are expected to participate.

China Regime Shutters 50 Websites & Social Media Accounts in Ongoing Purge of Internet Freedom

Wednesday, January 14th, 2015

Virtual ChainsVirtual Chains — China Regime Control of Internet  –Image: CMP

(China Digital Times) China regime has shuttered 50 websites and social media accounts for violations ranging from the alleged (often made up charge of) ‘spreading pornography’ to ‘publishing political news without a permit’ according to CCP Internet Police — the Cyber Administration of China (CAC) on Tuesday.

China is pursing a crackdown on what it deems to be unwanted material online, critics say, the increasing restrictions further limit free-speech by the one party Communist state.

According to Reuters last year Xinhua News said that CAC had closed nearly 1.8 million accounts on social networking and instant messaging services since launching its anti-porn campaign–In 2014, China authorities received nearly 11 million reports of what was described as ‘harmful information’ and in November, authorities called for tighter controls on the Internet to preserve stability.

On the 30 September, I wrote here that China’s Internet Police were working overtime to block news of Hong Kong’s ‘Freedom Revolution’ from reaching mainland China.

China Netizen Dai Zhaojun who identified himself from Guangdong Province commented in a Freeweibo posting why the Communist regime was so worried, “One can see the Imperial CCP governments dictatorship through this incident of the Hong Kong’s citizens peaceful disobedience–it uses violence to take Democracy away from the Hong Kong people, the people of mainland China and the world.’

In 2009 subsequent to the China regime’s announcement that it was cracking down on major websites and search engines Google and Baidu, together with blocking access to ABC News Blog claiming of course its because they ‘spread pornography’ and other material that corrupt young minds, I wrote here:

‘Free speech is essential in the pursuit of learning, every idea or thought is not an avenue of incitement, censorship only results in the pursuit of finding cracks in the Great Firewall of China.’

Its been said, ‘the more things change, the more the stay the same.’

Progress, free speech, 21st century Internet freedom, Democracy and universal suffrage are definitely not a friend to the archaic China regime.

Hong Kong ‘Umbrella Revolution’ Student Leader Joshua Wong, Criticizes Authorities in Court

Thursday, January 8th, 2015

Joshua WongHong Kong ‘Freedom Movement’ Student Leader Joshua Wong
Slams Authorities in Court —
Deutsce Welle (Chinese)

(Daily Mail) Joshua Wong, the teenage face of Hong Kong’s ‘Freedom Movement’ slammed authorities Thursday in a Court appearance linked to mass pro-Democracy demonstrations which had brought parts of the city to a standstill.

Wong was one of 29 activists in Court for a preliminary hearing on possible criminal contempt charges in November–China pledged that voters can elect the next Hong Kong chief executive in 2017 but says that only 2 or 3 candidates can run for the office and must be approved by the China regime.

China authorities have called the ‘Freedom Movement’ demonstrations illegal and police vowed to target the so called “principle instigators” in an ongoing witch-hunt–Obama assured China President Xi Jinping, the U.S. had no involvement in promoting freedom and democracy in Hong Kong.

On the 29 December, I wrote here about Han Ying, who has been arrested and imprisoned in China for advocating support of Hong Kong’s Freedom Revolution.
