What the Holy Scriptures Teach About the Dangers of the Last Days

Godlessness in the Last Days

You must understand this, that in the Last Days, distressing times will come. For people will

be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their

parents, ungrateful, unholy, inhuman, implacable, slanderers. profligates, brutes, haters of

good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of

God, holding to the outward form of godliness but denying its power. Avoid them!

2 Timothy 3:1-5

The Guilt of Humankind

For the wrath of God is revealed from Heaven against all ungodliness and wickedness of those

who by their wickedness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to

them because God has shown it to them. Ever since the creation of the world His eternal

power and divine nature, invisible though they are, have been understood and seen through

the things He (God) has made. So they are without excuse; for they knew God, they did not

honor Him as God or give Thanks to Him but they became futile in their thinking and their

senseless minds were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools and they exchanged

the glory of the Immortal God for images resembling a mortal human being or birds or

four-footed animals or reptiles.

Therefore God gave them up to the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the degrading of their

bodies among themselves because they exchanged the Truth about God for a lie, worshiped

and served the creature (Satan) rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.

For this reason God gave them up to degrading passions. Their women exchanged natural

intercourse for unnatural and in the same way also the men, giving up natural intercourse

with women, were consumed with passion for one another. Men committed shameless acts

with men and received in their own persons the due penalty for their error.

Since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind and to

things that should not be done. They were filled with every kind of wickedness, evil,

covetousness, malice. Full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, craftiness, they are gossips,

slanderers, God-haters. insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, rebellious toward

parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. They know God’s decree, that those who

practice such things deserve to die — yet they not only do them but even applaud others who

practice them.  –Romans 1:18-32

Jesus said, “My sheep hear My voice. I know them and they follow Me. I give them Eternal Life and they will never perish. No one will snatch them out of My hand. What My Father has given Me is greater than all else and no one can snatch it out of the Father’s hand. The Father and I are One.”  –John 10:27-30

The Divine Shepherd

A Song of David

The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.

He makes me lie down in green pastures;

He leads me beside still waters;

He restores my soul.

The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want. (Psalm 23:1)

He leads me in right paths

for His name sake.

Even though I walk through the darkest valley – the valley of the shadow of death

I fear no evil;

for You (the Great Shepherd) are with me;

Your rod and Your staff

they comfort me. (Psalm 23:4 -Hebrew/English)

The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want. (Psalm 23:1)

You prepare a table before me

in the presence of my enemies;

You anoint my head with oil;

my cup overflows.

The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want. (Psalm 23:1)

Surely goodness and Mercy shall follow me

all the days of my life

and I shall dwell in the House of the LORD

my whole life long — for ever! (Psalm 23:6 (KJV)

You Lord are my Shepherd; I will never be in need. (Psalm 23:1 (CEV)

Jesus came to Galilee, proclaiming The Good News of God and saying, “The time is fulfilled and the Kingdom of God has come near; Repent and Believe in The Good News!”  –Mark 1:14B-15

The Twelve Apostles

Jesus summoned His twelve Disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast

them out and to cure every disease and every sickness. These are the names of the twelve

Apostles: First, Simon also known as Peter; his brother Andrew; James son of Zebedee and his

brother John; Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James son of

Alphaeus; Thaddaeus; Simon the Cananaean; Judas Iscariot, the one who betrayed Jesus.

The Mission of the Twelve

These twelve Jesus sent out with the following instructions: “Go nowhere among the Gentiles

and enter no town of the Samaritans but go rather to the lost sheep of the HouseofIsrael. As

you go proclaim the Good News, ‘The Kingdom of Heaven has come near.’ Cure the sick, raise

the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. You received without payment; Give without

payment. Take no gold, silver or copper in your belts, no bag for your journey, or two tunics, or

sandals or a staff; for laborers deserve their food. Whatever town or village you enter, find out

who in it is worthy and stay there until you leave. As you enter the house greet it. If the house is

worthy, let your peace come upon it but if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you. If

anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, shake off the dust from your feet as you

leave that house or town. Truly I tell you, it will be more tolerable for the land of  Sodom and

Gomorrah on the day of judgment than for that town.”

Coming Persecutions

“I am sending you out like sheep into the midst of wolves; so be wise as serpents and innocent

as doves. Beware of them, for they will hand you over to councils and flog you in their

Synagogues; you will be dragged before governors and kings because of Me, as a testimony to

them and the Gentiles. When they hand you over, do not worry about how you are to speak or

what you are to say; for what you are to say will be given to you at that time; for it is not you

who speak but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you. Brother will betray brother to

death and a father his child and children will rise against parents and have them put to death;

you will be hated by all because of My name but the one who endures to the end will be saved.

When they persecute you in one town, flee to the next; for truly I tell you, you will not have

gone through all the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes.

A Disciple is not above the teacher, nor a slave above the master; It is enough for the Disciple to

be like the teacher and the slave like the master. If they have called the master of the house

Beelzebul, how much more will they malign those of his household!”

Whom To Fear

“So have no fear of them; for nothing is covered up that will not be uncovered and nothing

secret that will not become known. What I say to you in the dark, tell in the light; what you hear

whispered, proclaim from the housetops. Do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the

soul; rather fear Him who can destroy both soul and body in Hell. Are not two sparrows sold

for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father and even the

hairs of your head are all counted. So do not be afraid, you are of more value than many

sparrows.

Everyone therefore who acknowledges Me before others, I also will acknowledge before My

Father in Heaven but whoever denies Me before others, I also will deny before My Father in

Heaven.”

Not Peace But a Sword

Do not think I have come to bring peace to the earth;

I have not come to bring peace but a sword.

For I have come to set a man against his father

and a daughter against her mother

and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law

and one’s foes will be members of one’s household.

Whoever loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me and whoever loves son or

daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me and whoever does not take up the Cross and follow

me is not worthy of me. Those who find their life will lose it and those who lose their life for My

sake will find it.”

Rewards

“Whoever welcomes you welcomes Me and whoever welcomes Me welcomes the One who sent

Me. Whoever welcomes a prophet in the name of the prophet will receive a prophet’s reward

and whoever welcomes a righteous person in the name of a righteous person will receive the

reward of the righteous and whoever gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones in

the name of a Disciple — truly I tell you, none of these will lose their reward.” –Matthew 10:1-42

Blessed are You Father,  Lord of Heaven and earth,
for You have revealed to little ones the mysteries of the Kingdom. –CF. Matthew 11:25

Life In The Spirit

There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the Law of the Spirit of

life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the Law of sin and death. For God has done what the

Law, weakened by the flesh could not do; by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh

and to deal with sin, He condemned sin in the flesh, so that the just requirement of the Law

might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For

those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh but those who

live according to the Spirit, set their minds on the things of the Spirit. To set the mind on the

flesh is death but to set the mind on the Spirit, is life and peace. For this reason the mind that is

set on the flesh is hostile to God; It does not submit to God’s Law — indeed it cannot and those

who are in the flesh cannot please God.

You are not in the flesh; you are in the Spirit, since the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who

does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to Him but if Christ is in you. though the

body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness. If the Spirit of Him who

raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will give life to

your mortal bodies also through His Spirit that dwells in you.

So then, Brothers and Sisters, we are debtors not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh — for

if you live according to the flesh, you will die; if you live by the Spirit you put to death the deeds

of the body, you will live. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. For you

did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear but you have received a spirit of

adoption. When we cry, “Abba Father!” It is that very Spirit bearing witness with our spirit that

we are children of God and if children, then heirs, heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ — if,

in fact, we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him.

Future Glory

I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory about

to be revealed to us. For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the children

of God; For the creation was subjected to futility, not of its own will but by the will of the One

who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to decay and

will obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. We know that the whole creation

has been groaning in labor pains until now and not only the creation but we ourselves, who

have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly while we wait for adoption, the redemption of

our bodies. For in hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for

what is seen? We hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.

Likewise the Spirit helps is in our weakness; For we do not know how to pray as we ought but

this very Spirit intercedes with sighs too deep for words and God who searches the heart,

knows what is the mind of the Spirit because the Spirit intercedes for the Saints according to

the will of God.

We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called

according to His purpose. For those whom He foreknew He also predestined to be conformed

to the image of His Son, in order that He might be the firstborn within a large family. Those

whom He predestined He also called; those whom He called He also justified and those whom

He justified he glorified.

God’s Love in Christ Jesus

What then are we to say about these things? If God is for us, who is against us? He who did not

withhold His own Son but gave Him up for all of us, will He not with Him also give us

everything else? Who will bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is

to condemn? It is Christ Jesus who died, yes, who was raised, who is at the right hand of God,

who indeed intercedes for us. Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will hardship or

distress or persecution or famine, nakedness or peril or sword? As it is written:

“For your sake we are being killed all day long;
we are accounted as sheep to be slaughtered.” (Psalm 44:22)

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am

convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to

come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in creation will be able to separate

us from the love of God in Christ Jesus Our Lord!  –Romans 8:1-39

Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have obtained access to this grace in which we stand and we boast in our hope of sharing the glory of God and not only that but we also boast in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance and endurance produces character and character produces hope and hope does not disappoint us because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.  Romans 5:1-5

I still have many things to say to you but you cannot bear them now. When the Spirit of Truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth for He will not speak on His own but will speak whatever He hears and He will declare to you the things that are to come. He will glorify Me because He will take what is Mine and declare it to you. All that the Father has is Mine. For this reason, I said that He will take what is Mine and declare it to you.  John 16:12-15

Today Christians Commemorate The Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church – Please Pray For Us!

Monday, May 24th, 2021

O Happy Virgin, you gave birth to the Lord;
O Blessed Mother of the Church,
you warm our hearts with the Spirit of your Son, Jesus Christ!

Standing near the Cross of Jesus were His Mother and His Mother’s sister, Mary the wife of

Clopas and Mary Magdalene, when Jesus saw His Mother and the Disciple whom He loved

(St. John The Apostle) standing beside her, Jesus said to His Mother, “Woman, here is your

Son.” Then Jesus said to His Disciple, “Here is your Mother.” From that hour the Disciple took

her into his home.

After this, when Jesus knew that all was now finished, He said (in order to fulfill the Holy

Scripture) “I am thirsty.” A jar full of sour wine was standing there, so they put a sponge full of

the wine on a branch of hyssop and held it to His mouth. When Jesus had received the wine He

said, “It is finished.” Then He bowed his head and gave up His Spirit.

Jesus’ Side Is Pierced

Since it was the day of Preparation, the Jews did not want the bodies left on the Cross during

the Sabbath, especially because that Shabbos was a day of great solemnity. So they asked Pilate

to have the legs of the crucified men broken and the bodies removed. Then the Soldiers came

and broke the legs of the first and the other man who had been crucified with him (Jesus) but

when they came to Jesis and saw He was already dead, they did not break His legs. Instead, one

of the Soldiers pierced His side with a spear and at once blood and water came out.

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Your faithful
and kindle in them the fire of Your love.

Brothers and Sisters:

No one can say, “Jesus is Lord” except the Holy Spirit.

There are varieties of gifts but the same Spirit and there are varieties of services but the same

Lord; There are varieties of activities but it is the same God who activates all of them in

everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. To one is given

through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom and to another the utterance of knowledge

according to the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by

the one Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the

discernment of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues (languages) to another the

interpretation of tongues. All these are activated by one and the same (Holy) Spirit, who allots

to each one individually just as the (Holy) Spirit chooses.

One Body With Many Members

For just as the body is one and has many members and all the members of the body, though

many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For in the one (Holy) Spirit we were all baptized into

one body — Jews, Greeks, slaves or free and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.

1 Corinthians 12:3B-13

Jesus Appears to the Disciples

When it was evening on that day, the first day of the week and the doors of the house where the

Disciples had met were locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and

said, “Peace be with you!”

After Jesus said this, He showed them His hands and His side.

Then the Disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord.

Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent Me, so I send you.”

When he had said this, He breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you

forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; If you retain the sins of any, they are retained.”

Jesus proclaimed, “Go therefore and make Disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you and remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” –Matthew 28:19-20

The Promise of the Holy Spirit

In the first book, Theophilus, I wrote about all that Jesus did and taught from the beginning until the day

when He was taken up to Heaven, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the Apostles whom

He had chosen. After His suffering he presented Himself alive to them by many convincing proofs,

appearing to them during forty days and speaking about the Kingdom of God. While staying with them,

He ordered them not to leave Jerusalem but to wait there for the promise of the Father. “This,” he said,

“is what you have heard from me; For John baptized with water but you will be baptized with the Holy

Spirit not many days from now.” (Matthew 3:11; Luke 3:16)

The Ascension of Jesus the Lord

When they had come together, they asked Him, ‘Lord, is this the time when You will restore the Kingdom

of Israel?’ Jesus replied, “It is not for you to know the times pr periods that the Father has set by His own

authority but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you and you will be my

witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth.” When Jesus had said this,

as they were watching, He was lifted up and a cloud took Him out of their sight. While He was going and

they were gazing up toward Heaven, suddenly two men in white robes stood by them. They said, ‘Men of

Galilee, why do you stand looking up toward Heaven? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into

Heaven, will come in the same way as you saw Him go onto Heaven.” –Acts 1:1-11

The Joy of Living in Zion

Praise the Lord all you nations!

Extol Him, all you peoples!  (Psalm 117:1)

On the Holy mount stands the city He founded;

the Lord loves the gates of Zion

more than all the dwellings of Jacob.

Glorious things are spoken of you,

O City of God!

Among those who know Me I mention Rahab and Babylon;

Philista too and Tyre, with Ethiopia – ‘This one was born there,” they say.

Of Zion it shall be said,

‘This one and that one were born in it.”

For the Most High Himself will establish it.

Praise the Lord all you nations!

Extol Him, all you peoples!  (Psalm 117:1)

The Lord records, as He registers the peoples,

‘This one was born there.’

Singers and dancers alike say,

‘All my springs (innards are concerned) are in you.’  –Psalm 87:1-7

Extol Him, all you peoples!  (Psalm 117:1)

What the Holy Scriptures Teach About During the Last Days

There will be terrifying (distressing) times in the Last Days. People will be self-centered

(lovers of themselves) and lovers of money, proud, haughty, disobedient to their parents,

ungrateful, irreligious, callous, implacable, slanderous, licentious, brutal, hating what is
