What the Holy Scriptures Teach About During the Last Days

There will be terrifying (distressing) times in the Last Days. People will be self-centered

(lovers of themselves) and lovers of money, proud, haughty, disobedient to their parents,

ungrateful, irreligious, callous, implacable, slanderous, licentious, brutal, hating what is

good, traitors, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, as they make

a pretense of religion but deny its power. Avoid Them!  –2 Timothy 3:1-5

God’s Wrath Against Sinful Humanity

For the wrath of God is revealed from Heaven against all ungodliness and wickedness of those

who by their wickedness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to

them because God has shown it to them. Ever since the creation of the world His eternal

power and Divine nature, invisible though they are, have been understood and seen through

the things He has made. So they are without excuse, for though they knew God, they did not

honor Him as God or give thanks to Him but they became futile in their thinking and their

senseless minds were darkened. Claiming to be wise they became fools and they exchanged

the Glory of the Immortal God for images resembling a mortal human being, or birds or four-

footed animals or reptiles.

Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the degrading of their

bodies among themselves because they exchanged the Truth about God for a Lie and

worshiped and served the creature (Satan) rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever!

Since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind and to

things that should not be done. They were filled with every kind of wickedness, evil,

covetousness, malice. Full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, craftiness, they are gossips,

slanderers, God-haters, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, rebellious toward

parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. They know God’s Decree, that those who

practice such things deserve to die — yet they not only do them but even applaud others who

practice them. –Romans 1:18-25; 28-32

This is the day that the Lord has made;
Let us rejoice and be glad in it.  –Psalm 118:24

God’s Faithfulness To Israel!

Glory in His (God) Holy name;

Let the hearts of those who seek the Lord Rejoice! (Psalm 105:3)

Give Thanks to the Lord, call on His name,

make known His deeds among the peoples.

Sing to Him, sing praises to Him;

Tell of all His wondrous works.

Glory in His Holy name;

Let the hearts of those who seek the Lord Rejoice!

Seek the Lord and His strength;

Seek His presence continually.

Remember the wonderful works He has done,

His miracles and the judgments He has uttered.

O offspring of His servant Abraham,

children of Jacob, His chosen ones.

He is the Lord our God!

His judgments are in all the earth.

He is mindful of His Covenant forever.

of the Word He commanded, for a thousand generations,

the Covenant that He made to Abraham,

His sworn promise to Issac,

which He confirmed to Jacob as a statute,

to Israel as an everlasting Covenant, saying,

“To you, I will give the land of Canaan

as your portion for an inheritance.” (See: Genesis 13:15; Genesis 15:18)

When they were few in number

of little account and strangers in it,

wandering from nation to nation,

from one kingdom to another people,

He allowed no one to oppose them;

He rebuked kings on their account,

saying, “Do not touch my anointed ones;

do my Prophets no harm.” (See: 1 Chronicles 16:22)

When He summoned famine against the land

and broke every staff of bread,

He had sent a man ahead of them,

Joseph, who was sold as a slave.

His feet were hurt with fetters,

his neck was put in a collar of iron

until what he had said came to pass,

the Word of the Lord kept testing him.

The king sent and released him;

the ruler of the peoples set him free.

He made him lord of his house

and ruler of all his possessions,

to instruct his officials at his pleasure

and to teach his elders wisdom.

Then Israel came to Egypt;

Jacob lived as an alien in the land of Ham

and the Lord made His people very fruitful

and made them stronger than their foes,

whose hearts he then turned to hate his people,

to deal craftily with his servants.

He (God) sent His servant Moses

and Aaron whom He had chosen.

They performed His signs among them

and miracles in the land of Ham.

He sent darkness and made the land dark;

they rebelled against His Words.

He (God) turned their waters into blood

and caused their fish to die.

Their land swarmed with frogs,

even in the chambers of their kings.

He spoke and there came swarms of flies

and gnats throughout their country.

He (God) gave them hail for rain

and lightning that flashed through their land.

He (G0d) struck their vines and fig trees

and shattered the trees of their country.

He (God) spoke and the locusts came

and young locusts without number;

they devoured all the vegetation of their land

and ate up the fruit of their ground.

He (God) struck down all the firstborn in their land,

the first issue of all their strength.

Then He (God) brought Israel out with silver and gold

and there was no one among their tribes who stumbled.

Egypt was glad when they departed,

for dread of them had fallen upon it.

He (God) spread a cloud for a covering

and fire to gibe light by night.

They asked and God brought quails

and gave them food from Heaven in abundance.

God opened the rock and water gushed out,

it flowed through the desert like a river.

For He (God) remembered His Holy Promise

and Abraham his servant.

So He (God) brought His people (Israel) out with joy,

His chosen ones with singing.

He (God) gave them the lands of the nations

and they took possession of the wealth of the peoples,

that they might keep His Statutes

and observe His Laws.

Praise the Lord!  –Psalm 105:1-45

Song of Trust and Security in God

Protect me, O God, for in You I take refuge.

I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord; I have no good apart from You.”

As for the holy ones in the land, they are noble,
in whom is all my delight.

Those who choose another god multiply their sorrows;
Their drink offerings of blood I will not pour out
or take their names upon my lips.

The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup;
You hold my lot.
The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;
I have good heritage!

Protect me, O God, for in You I take refuge. (Psalm 16:1)

I bless the Lord who gives me counsel;
In the night also my heart instructs me.
I keep the Lord always before me
because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

Protect me, O God, for in You I take refuge. (Psalm 16:1)

Therefore my heart is glad and my soul rejoices;
My body also rests secure.
For You do not give me up to Sheol
or let your faithful one see the Pit. (Hell)

Protect me, O God, for in You I take refuge. (Psalm 16:1)

You show me the path of life!
In Your presence there is fullness of joy!
In Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. –Psalm 16:1-11

Protect me, O God, for in You I take refuge. (Psalm 16:1)

Easter: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow — Resurrection Of The Lord
Image Courtesy: Fr. John Louis

God raised Him (Jesus) on the third day and allowed Him to appear — He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that He is the One ordained by God as Judge of the living and the dead.
All of the Prophets testify that everyone who believes in Him
receives forgiveness of sins through His name. –Acts 10:40-43 (NRSVCE)

A Song of Victory

This is the day that the Lord has made,
let us rejoice and be glad in it. (Psalm 118:24)

O give Thanks to the Lord for He is Good;
His steadfast love endures forever!

Let Israel say, “His steadfast love endures forever.”
Let the house of Aaron say,
“His steadfast love endures forever.”

Let those who Fear the Lord say,
“His steadfast love endures forever.”

Out of my distress I called to the Lord;
the Lord answered me and set me in a broad place.

With the Lord on my side I do not fear.
What can mortals do to me?

The Lord is on my side to help me;
I shall look in triumph on those who hate me.
It is better to take refuge in the Lord
than to put confidence in mortals.
It is better to take refuge in the Lord
than to put confidence in princes.

All nations surround me;
In the name of the Lord I cut them off!
They surround me, surround me on every side.
In the name of the Lord I cut them off!
They surround me like bees;
they blazed like a fire of thorns;
In the name of the Lord I cut them off!
I was pushed hard, so that I was falling but the Lord helped me.
The Lord is my strength and my might,
He has become my Salvation.

There are glad songs of victory in the tents of the righteous;
“The right hand of the Lord does valiantly;
the right hand of the Lord is exalted;
the right hand of the Lord does valiantly.”
I shall not die but I shall live and recount the deeds of the Lord.
The Lord has punished me severely
but He did not give me over to death.

Open to me the gates of righteousness,
that I may enter through them and Give Thanks to the Lord!

This is the gate of the Lord;
the righteous shall enter through it.

I thank You that You have answered me
and have become my salvation.
The stone that the builders rejected
has become the chief cornerstone.
This is the Lord’s doing;
It is marvelous in our eyes.

This is the day that the Lord has made;
Let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Save us, we beseech You, O Lord!
O Lord, we beseech You, give us success!

Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord.
We bless You from the House of the Lord.

The Lord is God and He has given us light.

Bind the festal procession with branches,
up to the horns of the altar.

You are my God and I will give thanks to You!
You are my God, I will extol You!

O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good,
for His steadfast love endures forever! –Psalm 118:1-29

The New Life In Christ

So if you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth, for you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory. –Colossians 3:1-4

For the wages of sin is death but the Free Gift of God is Eternal Life
in Christ Jesus Our Lord. –Romans 6:23 (NRSVCE) Image Courtesy: Fr. John Lewis

For God so love the world that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him may not perish but may have eternal life.

Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world but in order that the world might be saved through Him.

Those who believe in Him are not condemned but those who do not believe are condemned already because they have not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

This is the judgment, that the light has come into the world and people loved darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil. For all who do evil hate the light and do not come to the light so that their deeds may not be exposed but those who do what is true come to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that their deeds have been done in God. –John 3:16-21

Then Jesus took a little child and put it among them (His Disciples) and taking it in His arms He said to them, “Whoever welcomes one such child in My name welcomes Me and whoever welcomes Me welcomes not Me but the One who sent Me.” –Mark 9:36-37 (NRSVCE)

Jesus Foretells His Death and Resurrection

They (Jesus and His Disciples) went on from there and passed through Galilee, He didn’t want anyone to know it for He was teaching His Disciples saying to them, “The Son of Man is to be betrayed into human hands and they will kill Him and three days after being killed, He will rise again.” They did not understand what He was saying and were afraid to ask Him.

Who Is the Greatest?

Then they came to Capernaum (17.5 miles from Galilee) and when He was in the house Jesus asked them, “What were you arguing about on the way?” They were silent, for on the way they had argued with one another who was the greatest. Jesus sat down, called the twelve (Disciples) and said to them, “Whoever wants to be first must be last of all and servant of all.” Then Jesus took a little child and put it among them and taking it in His arms He said to them, “Whoever welcomes one such child in My name welcomes Me and whoever welcomes Me welcomes not Me but the One who sent Me.” –Mark 9:30-37

The Lord is My Light and My Salvation! –Psalm 27:1A (NRSVCE)  Image Courtesy: EWTN

Triumphant Song of Confidence

The Lord is my Light and My Salvation, whom shall I fear?

The Lord is the stronghold of my life, of whom shall I be afraid?

The Lord is My Light and My Salvation! (Psalm 27:1A)

When evildoers assail me to devour my flesh — my adversaries and foes they shall stumble and fall.

Though an army encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war rise up against me, yet I will be

confident. One thing I asked of the Lord, that I will seek after, to live in the House of the Lord all the days

of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in His Temple.

The Lord is My Light and My Salvation! (Psalm 27:1A)

For He will hide me in His shelter in the day of trouble; He will conceal me under the cover of His tent;

He will set me high on a rock. Now my head is lifted up above my enemies all around me and I will offer

in His tent sacrifices and shouts of joy; I will sing and make melody to the Lord. Hear O Lord, when I cry

aloud, be gracious to me and answer me! ‘Come’ my heart says, ‘Seek His Face!” Your face, Lord do I

seek. Do not hide Your face from me. Do not turn Your servant away in anger, You who have been my

help. Do not cast me off, do not forsake me. O God, My Salvation! If my father and mother forsake me,

the Lord will take me up. Teach me Your way O Lord and lead me on a level path because of my enemies.

Do not give me up to the will of my adversaries, for false witnesses have risen against me and they are

breathing out violence.

The Lord is My Light and My Salvation! (Psalm 27:1A)

I believe that I shall see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; Be strong

and let your heart take courage; Wait for the Lord! –Psalm 27:1-14

An Inspiration Of Time With God For Today

Tuesday, March 9th, 2021

If today you hear His voice,
harden not your hearts. Cf. Psalm 95:7-8 (NRSVCE)

Living By Faith

So we do not lose heart – Even though our outer nature is wasting away, our inner nature is being

renewed day-by-day. For this slight momentary affliction is preparing us for an eternal weight of glory

beyond all measure because we look not at what can be seen but at what cannot be seen; For what can be

seen is temporary (See: Psalm 102:11; Psalm 144:4; James 4:14) but what cannot be seen is eternal.

For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not

made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this tent we groan, longing to be clothed with our

heavenly dwelling — if indeed, when we have taken it off we will not be found naked. For while we are still

in this tent, we groan under our burden because we wish not to be unclothed but to be further clothed, so

that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who

has given us the (Holy) Spirit as a guarantee.

So we are always confident; Even though we know that while we are at home in the body we are away

from the Lord — For we walk by faith, not by sight. Yes, we do have confidence and we would rather be

away from the body and at home with the Lord. So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim

to please Him.

For all of us must appear before the Judgment Seat of Christ,
so that each may receive recompense for what has been done in the body, whether good or evil.

The Ministry of Reconciliation

Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we try to persuade others but we ourselves are well known to

God and I hope that we are also well known to your consciences. We are not commending ourselves to

you again but giving you an opportunity to boast about us, so that you may be able to answer those who

boast in outward appearance and not in the heart. For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; If we are

in our right mind, it is for you. For the love of Christ urges us on because we are convinced that One

(Christ Jesus) has died for all; Therefore all have died and He died for all so that those who live might

live no longer for themselves but for Him who died and was raised for them.

From now on therefore, we regard no one from a human point of view even though we once knew Christ

from a human point of view, we know Him no longer that way.

So if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: Everything old has passed away, see, everything has

become new! All this is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and has given us the

Ministry of Reconciliation that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their

trespasses against them and entrusting the message of reconciliation to us.

So we are Ambassadors for Christ, since God is making His appeal through us; We entreat you on behalf

of Christ, be reconciled to God. For our sake He made Him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in Him we

might become the righteousness of God.

As we work together with Him, we urge you also not to accept the Grace of God in vain. For He says,

“At an acceptable time I have listened to you
and on a day of Salvation I have helped you.” (See: Cf. Isaiah 49:8)

See, now is the acceptable time; See, now is the day of Salvation!

Happy is the nation whose God is the Lord! –Psalm 33:12A (NRSVCE)

The Greatness and Goodness of God

May Your mercy Lord, be upon us;
As we put our hope in You!  Psalm 33:22 (NABRE)

Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous.

Praise befits the upright.

Praise the Lord with the lyre; Make melody to Him with the harp of ten strings. Sing to Him a

new song; Play skillfully on the strings, with loud shouts.

For the Word of the Lord is upright and all His work is done in faithfulness.

He loves righteousness and justice; The earth is full of the steadfast love of the Lord.

May Your mercy Lord be upon us;
As we put our hope in You!  Psalm 33:22 (NABRE)

By the Word of the Lord the heavens were made and all their host by the breath of His mouth.

He gathered the waters of the sea as in a bottle; He put the deeps in storehouses.

Let all the earth fear the Lord; Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him.

For He spoke and it came to be; He commanded and it stood firm.

The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; He frustrates the plans of the peoples.

The Counsel of the Lord stands forever, the thoughts of His heart to all generations.

Happy is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom He has chosen as His heritage.

The Lord looks down from Heaven; He sees all humankind. From where He sits enthroned He

watches all the inhabitants of the earth — He who fashions the hearts of them all

and observes all their deeds.

A king is not saved by his great army; A warrior is not delivered by his great strength.

The war horse is a vain hope for victory and by its great might it cannot save.

May Your mercy Lord be upon us;
As we put our hope in You!  Psalm 33:22 (NABRE)

Truly the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him,

on those who hope in His steadfast love,

to deliver their soul from death and to keep them alive in famine.

May Your mercy Lord be upon us;
As we put our hope in You!  Psalm 33:22 (NABRE)

Our soul waits for the Lord; He is our help and shield.

Our heart is glad in Him because we trust in His Holy Name!

Let Your steadfast love O Lord, be upon us, even as we hope in You! –Psalm 33:1-22

Thanksgiving and Encouragement

I am grateful to God — whom I worship with a clear conscience, as my ancestors did; For God

did not give us a spirit of cowardice but rather a spirit of power and of love

and of self-discipline.

Do not be ashamed then of the testimony about Our Lord — join with me in suffering for the

Gospel, relying on the power of God who saved us and called us with a Holy calling, not

according to our works but according to His own purpose and grace. This grace was given to us

in Christ Jesus before the ages began but it has now been revealed through the appearing of

Our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through

the Gospel. –2 Timothy 1:3A; 7-10
