(Market Watch) The Dept of Labor dubiously reported that the economy added 157,000 jobs in January but despite the jobs data, the nation’s unemployment rate ticked up to 7.9%
Yesterday I wrote here that new claims for jobless benefits jumped 38,000 during the week ending the 26 January, the Dept of Labor reported yesterday.
Flashback: Remember before taking office four years ago that Barack Obama pledged to put a renewed focus on jobs when the nations unemployment rate stood at 7.6% which Obama claimed the nations jobless rate “…could not be more serious…these numbers demand action.”

(The Hill) The White House has informed House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan, R-WI by letter that it will not meet its deadline to submit a budget to Congress timely, despite the Budget and Accounting Act of 1921 which specifies when the White House budget proposal must be submitted.
The Obama Administration blames their shortcomings this time–on tax and spending issues that went unresolved until passage of the fiscal cliff boondoggle earlier this month.
When is the Obama Administration going to begin taking responsibility for anything, without blaming others for their failures?

(MarketWatch) Initial claims for jobless benefits rose to their highest level in a month by 4,000 during the past week to 371,000 during the week ending the 05 January–Economists surveyed by MarketWatch had forecast that unemployment would fall to 365,000
According to The Heritage Foundation the economy must add between 100,000 to 125,000 jobs per month just to keep pace with population growth.
