Is This Still America? “Voluntary” Govt Checkpoints Spark Backlash

Nazi Check PointNazi Check Point —Image: Before Its News

(USA Today) Checkpoints which the government “insists are voluntary” are creating a backlash because of the presence of uniformed Police Officers.

In an era of rampant distrust of the federal government and in the wake of the Obama Administration’s Natl Security Agency surveillance scandal in which the agency has collected data on hundreds of millions of unsuspecting Americans, DHS/Immigration & DUI checkpoints have come under intense criticism in several cities this year that some Police Dept’s won’t participate anymore.

Driver’s in the Ft Worth, Texas area were being offered $10 for cheek swabs and $50 for blood samples–these checkpoints spurred complaints in November, resulting Police Chief Jeffrey Halstead apologizing for his Officers participation in a Natl Highway Traffic Safety Administration survey.

What assurance did any of the Ft Worth, Texas area motorists have that the DNA and blood samples that were collected are not being stored in some federal data bank?

On the 08 March, 2010 I wrote here Nazi Germany demanded ‘papers’ and identity cards for persons to travel, is this what we can expect in the United States?

It is if RINO Sen Lindsey Graham and NY Progressive/Democrat-Socialist Sen Chuckie Schumer would have anything to say about it.

White House Announces Latest Unlawful Change to ObamaCare, Some May Buy Catastrophic Health Ins

(WSJ) The Obama Administration announced today, that it will now allow millions of Americans whose (so called inferior) health insurance policies that have been canceled because of ObamaCare, to purchase non-compliant, bare bones catastrophic health insurance in 2014 in yet another unlawful 11th hour ‘executive order’ that likely will cause trepidation with insurance companies, two weeks out until the first of the year.

According to Forbes President Obama has illegally made more than 27 ‘fixes’ by administrative fiat to his fatally flawed signature legislative achievement.

In November, FOX News Senior Judicial Analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano addressing Obama’s ‘fixes’ to the ACA said “The president cannot change the law, cannot change the terms of the law, cannot change the date at which the law begins unless Congress and the Courts are willing to look the other way.”

President Obama’s numerous decisions without Congressional authorization, opens the law up to another challenge before the Supreme Court.

Federal Judge: NSA Spying on Americans “Almost Orwellian” Almost Certainly Violates Constitution

(The BLT) The Natl Security Agency’s bulk collection of telephone records likely violates the privacy rights of  individual Americans, a federal judge in Washington, DC ruled today in the matter under the caption of Klayman, et al -v- Obama, et al Case No(s) 13-0851 and 13-0881

Describing the government’s intrusive actions “almost Orwellian” USDC Judge Richard Leon found the challengers in lawsuits filed in Washington, likely to succeed on their 4th Amendment privacy claims and may go forward.

In June I wrote here that Obama who claimed to be a former Constitutional Law Professor, attempting to defend the NSA spying on Americans said (in another one of his rambling answers) during an interview on PBS, “Occasionally there are going to be check-points (such as in Nazi Germany, I digress) they may be intrusive…It is transparent, that is why we set up the (secret) FISA Court.”

The Past Nelson Mandela Can’t Escape, Which Obama & the Dinosaur Media Won’t Talk About

President Obama earlier this year compared former South African President Nelson Mandela to George Washington, adding that “Madiba’s moral courage, this country’s historic transition to a free nation has been a personal inspiration to me.”

There is much about Mandela’s life that seems to have become lost with all of the praise and accolades that are being bestowed on him ahead of his funeral scheduled to take place this week which Obama, together with former President’s Bush and Clinton will attend.

Forgotten by most and largely unreported by the national media is Mandela’s Communist past and decades on the U.S. Terrorism Watch List until 2008

Speaking at the Intl Women’s Forum in 2003 CNN reported that Mandela bashed America saying, “If there is a country that has committed unspeakable atrocities in the world it is the United States of America.”

Mandela like to many others before and after him have chosen to forget that it was the United States that saved the world from Nazi fascism and following the end of WW II, orchestrated with our allies the Berlin Airlift for more than a year, ferrying more than 2.3 million tons of food and cargo into defeated Germany, saving the nation from mass starvation and all the many other natural disasters around the globe where the United States leads relief efforts. Most recently, following Typhoon Haiyan that struck the Philippines in November, leaving the island nation devastated, thousands killed, hundreds of thousands others displaced and desperate for fresh water, food and supplies.

Unashamedly, President Obama and the media fails to report that in 1996 Mandela signed into law the ‘Choice on Termination Pregnancy Bill’ which Catholic News Agency reports granted state financing of abortion on demand up to the 20th week of pregnancy and abortion for ‘serious medical reasons’ until birth.

Mandela’s legacy has yet to be written, what history remembers of this man’s life is fortunately not up to long winded politicians of our time but will be left up to the ages, that may judge an individual, absent emotional tributes and recharacterizations that one may wish to pursue today.

Nothing Is Beyond Our Reach

(FOX News) The U.S. National Reconnaissance Office launched a new spy satellite last evening on ‘Mission NROL-39’ and the new tag line and logo are quite an eye opener.

“Nothing Is Beyond Our Reach.”

Isn’t that just a comforting thought, after all we’ve learned about the NSA spying on Americans together with the latest overreach by the TSA and Dept of Homeland Security recently announced practice changes.

At a Democratic Fundraiser in Texas, Obama Makes a Chilling Admission About the Courts

Thursday, November 7th, 2013

(Twitchy) At a Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee fundraiser last night in Texas Barack Obama made an astonishing admission that we are “remaking the courts.”

Here is the full quote via the White House.gov transcript:

We were able to reform our financial system so that the likelihood of taxpayer funded bailouts is a lot less than it was. We were able to expand funding for young people going to college. We were able to expand national service for young people who want to serve. We fought long and hard for consumer protections that weren’t there before.

As Lisa mentioned, we are remaking the courts. I know we got some lawyers here and here in Texas, sometimes people feel a little frustrated about the pace of appointments here in Texas but you should know that in addition to the Supreme Court, we’ve been able to nominate and confirm judges of extraordinary quality all across the country on federal benches. We’re actually, when it comes to the district court, matching the pace of previous President’s. When it comes to the appellate court, we’re just a little bit behind and we’re just going to keep on focused on it.

Obama Brings Chilling Effect to Journalism

Marxist Takeover of America

(Committee to Protect Journalists) President Obama came into office pledging an ‘open and transparent government’ but he’s fallen short of that promise.

Journalists and transparency activists say the Obama Administration curbs routine disclosure of information and deploys its own media to evade scrutiny by the press. Aggressive prosecution of leakers and ‘whistle-blowers’ of classified information, demonizing FOX News to investigating James Rosen including other reporters and broad electronic surveillance programs deter government sources from speaking to journalists.

Committee to Protect Journalists, has distributed a pattern of actions by the Obama Administration that have chilled the flow of information on issues of great public interest, including matters of national security.

The Obama Administration war on leaks to the press through the use of secret subpoena’s against news organizations, its assertion through prosecution that leaking classified documents to the press is espionage or aiding the enemy and their increased limitations on access to information that is in the public interest–all thwart a free and open discussion necessary to a democracy.

“Gestapo Tactics” Meet Senior Citizens at Yellowstone National Park

(Newburyport Daily News) Pat Vaillancourt went on a trip last week that was intended to showcase some of America’s greatest treasures.

Instead the Salisbury resident said that she and others on her tour bus witnessed an ugly spectacle that made her embarrassed, angry and heartbroken for her country.

Vaillancourt was one of thousands of people who found themselves in a national park during the federal government slimdown that went into effect last week. For many hours her tour group that included Seniors from Australia, Japan, Canada and the United States, were locked in (detained/false imprisonment) in a Yellowstone Natl Park hotel under armed guard.

The tourists were treated harshly by armed park employees, Vaillancourt said, so much so that some of the foreign tourists with limited English skills thought they were under arrest.

When finally they were permitted to leave, the bus was not allowed to stop at all along a 2.5 hour trip out of the park not even to stop at private restrooms that were open along the route. “We’ve become a country of fear, guns and control,” said Vaillancourt, “It was like they brought out the armed forces, nobody was saying we’re sorry.”

Vaillancourt was taking part in a 9 day tour of Western parks and sites together with about 4 dozen Seniors , one of the highlights of the trip was to be Yellowstone Natl Park.

Park Rangers systematically sent park visitors out of the park though some groups that had hotel reservations such as Vaillancourt’s, were ‘permitted’ to stay for two days. Those two days started out on a sour note she said:

“The bus stopped along a road when a large herd of bison passed nearby and Seniors filed out to take photos. Almost immediately an armed Ranger came by and ‘ordered’ them to get back into the bus saying that they couldn’t “recreate.” The tour guide who had paid a $300 fee the day before to bring the group into the park argued that the Seniors ‘were not recreating’ just taking photos.

The Park Ranger responded: “Sir, you are recreating,” and her tone became very aggressive , Vaillancourt said.

The Seniors quickly filed back on-board and the bus went to the ‘Old Faithful Inn’ the park’s premiere lodge, located adjacent to the park’s most famous site–that was as close as they could get to the famous site, barricades surrounded ‘Old Faithful’ and the Seniors were ‘locked’ inside the hotel, where armed Park Rangers stayed at the door.

“They looked like ‘Hulk Hogan’s’ armed, they told us, “You can’t go outside,” some of the Asians who were on the tour said, “Oh my God, are we under arrest?” They felt like they were criminals.”

By the 03 October, the park which sees an average of 4,500 visitors a day was nearly empty. The remaining hotel guests were required to depart.

As the bus made its 2.5 hour journey out of Yellowstone Natl Park, the tour guide made arrangements to stop at a full-service restroom at a in-park Dude Ranch he had done business with before, though the bus had its own restroom, Vaillancourt said that Seniors were looking for more of a comfortable place to stop but no stop was made, Vaillancourt said the Dude Ranch ‘had been warned that its license to operate would be revoked if it permitted the bus to stop’ so the bus continued on to Livingston, Montana.

The bus trip made headlines in Livingston, where the local newspaper the ‘Livingston Enterprise’ interviewed the tour guide Gordon Hodgson who accused the park service of “Gestapo Tactics.”

“The national parks belong to the people–this isn’t right,” Hodgson told the ‘Enterprise.’

Calls to Yellowstone’s communications were not returned. Many of the foreign visitors were shocked and dismayed what had happened and how they were treated, Vaillancourt said. A lot of people were foreign and said they wouldn’t come back (to America) she said.

(Washington Times) The U.S. Dept of Justice/Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms (ATF) is blocking the main Wistleblower in the Fast & Furious scandal from publishing a book, claiming his retelling of the Mexico ‘gun running’ operation will hurt morale inside the embattled agency.

The ACLU announced they were becoming involved in the case today, protesting censorship and the denial of ATF Agent’s John Dodson’s First Amendment rights.
