Last week, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-CA insisted that she is running the most ethical and honest Congress in history, amid news that twenty term NY Congressman Charlie Rangle, was facing very serious ethical violations.

Today comes word that another NY Democrat Congressman Eric Massa facing sexual harassment violations has announced his resignation from Congress effective Monday.

Congressman Massa, a 1981 graduate from the U.S. Naval Academy married with two children said last year “In my 24 year career in the United States Military, I learned the value of doing the right thing no matter what the cost…The families of the 29th Congressional District sent me to Washington to do the right thing no matter what. Nobody will ever agree with 100% of my decisions but I promise you that you will always know where I stand.”

I don’t know but I am thinking that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi may have been fibbing to us about running the “most ethical and honest Congress in history.”

While Charlie Rangle, D-NY has temporarily stepped down as Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, the disgraced Democrat is facing very serious ethical violations and House Rules by using his official position to raise money for the Charles P. Rangle Center for Public Service and had his Congressional Committee consider legislation that would benefit the center, to intentionally failing to report hundred of thousands of dollars in personal assets as required.

Last week House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-CA insisted that she is running the most ethical Congress in history.

Riiight !

Congressman Charlie Rangle, D-NY has been admonished by the House Ethic Committee, over improper corporate sponsored trips to the Caribbean, leaves House Speaker and the ethics committee facing difficult questions.

When then House Majority Leader Congressman Tom Delay, R-TX was admonished by the Ethics Committee in October, 2004 Pelosi and other Democrats went after him.

Nancy Pelosi, said at a news conference the following day, “The burden falls upon his fellow House Republicans. Republicans must answer,  do they want an ethically unfit person to be their majority leader or do they want to remove the ethical cloud that hangs over the Capitol?”
