ObamaCare Sticker Shock at Colleges, Students That Once Bought Health Ins to Go Without

(FOX News) While millions are watching their individual health insurance plans get canceled due to ObamaCare mandates, the new health care rules are also having a major impact on college campuses.

For decades, colleges and universities offered bare-boned health insurance plans but because of ObamaCare, those policies no longer cut it–colleges and universities are being forced to decide whether to offer significantly higher cost health insurance or cancel coverage all together.

At Bowie State University in Maryland, the cost of student health care plans went from roughly $100 annually to $1,800 annually thanks to Obama’s ~~Affordable~~ Unaffordable Care Act.

The sticker shock didn’t sit well with some students at Bowie State Univ who spoke to Campus Reform about ObamaCare price spikes:

“We don’t have that money…We can barely afford to buy books.”

Another said, “Its stupid and it’s Obama’s fault…You haven’t done anything Obama and I’m disappointed in you.”

“What it was hyped up to be was that it was supposed to solve a lot of problems and help a lot of people and its not really doing that,” said another.

Its been a similar story across the country.

(89.3 KPCC) 7 California Democrats ran-away from ObamaCare and voted with House Republicans on Friday that would allow Americans to keep for one year their health insurance plans that do no comply with President Obama’s signature legislative achievement.

The defections of 39 House Democrats breaking ranks with President Obama has highlighted the pressure on Congress to help the 4 million+ policy holders nationwide that had their health insurance canceled because of ObamaCare mandates.

Nationwide according to the Obama Administration this week only 106,185 Americans were able to make it all the way through the broken ObamaCare website selecting a health insurance plan–this number may actually be smaller if it only counted Americans finalized their enrollments by actually paying their first months premium.

(ATR) According to data compiled by Americans for Tax Reform the Obama Administration has spent $4.4 Billion of taxpayers money on state ObamaCare websites $910,605,370.00 in California alone which has seen more than 1 Million health insurance cancellations and a mere 35,000 sign-ups for ObamaCare/Covered California.

Twelve weeks from today on the 07 February, 2014 Breitbart News reports the U.S. Govt will hit its borrowing authority. When Congress lifted the debt ceiling last month, for the first time ever, it pegged the increase to a specific date rather than a dollar amount the current federal deficit today is $17.1Trillion which is contributing to our anemic economy, a record low worker participation rate and rattling Consumer confidence heading into the busiest shopping season of the year, a ‘make or break time’ for many business.

According to Zero Hedge Americans plan on spending 10% less for Christmas gifts this year than last year. During Obama’s Watch, Americans are spending on average 19% less than they spent in 2007 and 18% less than they did in 1999 The last two times the November forecast for holiday spending slumped, the U.S. entered into a recession.

(KTTV Los Angeles) The Obama Administration released the disastrous ObamaCare enrollment numbers for October–fewer than 27,000 signed up in 36 states using the glitchy federal website.

In California, where more than 1 Million health insurance cancellations have been sent out, a mere 35,000 people signed up for ObamaCare through the ‘Covered California’ state exchange.

Nationwide 106,185 were able to make it all the way through the federal website selecting a health insurance plan–this number would be smaller if it counted only those who finalized their enrollments by actually paying their first month’s premium.

California Non-Profit Corp Drops Employee Health Insurance Due to ObamaCare

(KRCR TV) Ninety employees of California Vocations a state funded non-profit corporation that supports adults with developmental disabilities, learned that their health insurance with Blue Shield will be terminated at the end of the year.

California Vocations Executive Director Bob Irvine says its been frustrating for the organization and its employees–Irvine said the organizations Board of Directors canceled its policies because the new Obama regulations forced it to purchase more expensive policies that it simply can not afford.

“That would have been another $250,000” said Irvine.

Instead, its cheaper to pay a $100,000 per year ~~fine~~ tax for not providing health care insurance saving the company $150,000 per year by canceling the policy.

Employees are left to fend for themselves, thanks to ObamaCare.

(Breitbart) Last month, when ObamaCare was rolled out the $634 Million+ Affordable Care website which the govt had 3.5 yrs to build repeatedly crashed. We were told by the Obama Administration, that it was due to a high volume of Americans, simultaneously attempting to sign-up for ObamaCare.

One month later and after more repeated lies by the Obama Administration together with Democrats and Liberal Lefties repeating the same talking points we’ve learned that the ObamaCare website was never prepared to handle more than 1,100 users a day according to the House Oversight and Reform Committee documents released on Wednesday.

This is a huge deviation compared to the 50,000 to 60,000 simultaneous users that ObamaCare Chief Technology Officer Todd Park claimed it could process back on the 06 October.

(LA Times) President Obama has put a new shine on his beleaguered ObamaCare pitch this week reportedly urging ‘Organizing for Action’ his most loyal minions to help him spread “far and wide” the good news of ObamaCare which he continues to say is “making the insurance market better for everybody.”

Riiight…

Tell that to the 900,000 in California that will lose their health insurance as the ObamaCare disaster spreads or to the 2,500 ‘David’s Bridal’ employees that have been moved to part-time because of ObamaCare.
