(L.A.Times) ObamaCare/Covered California still lacks doctor search tool to help people find out whether health care plans offered include their doctors or hospitals.

Flashback: Remember when Obama Administration officials assured Americans that “After over two years of work (ObamaCare) is built and ready for operation and we have completed security testing and certification to operate. This is an important step in being ready for open enrollment on Oct 01.”

On the 01 October, I wrote here ObamaCare websites didn’t work–Day 4 consumers are still reporting that they’re still unable to log into @HealthCare.Gov

(The Blaze) ObamaCare/Covered California now admits that it exaggerated lied about the number of visitors its received to the online website by 10 fold.

California officials had claimed that ‘Covered California’ received five million site visitors the first day of the roll out evidencing strong consumer interest and a primary reason why there have been so many glitches–turns out the actual number of visitors was only 514,000

(Capitol Alert/Sacremento Bee) Technical issues disrupted the launch day of ObamaCare’s ‘Covered California’ online insurance exchange, as in many other places around the country. “A click on the ‘start button’ leads to a page that takes several minutes to load,” writes Jeremy White, “when it finally does its formatting appears to be faulty, clicking through the next step brings added issues.”

Steven Sheasby@Twitter writes “I checked California ObamaCare exchange today. I would pay about $1,000 more per month. This is not affordable. We need to stop this.”

Obama Productions Enlists “Funny or Die” Studio Hollywood to Film ObamaCare Propaganda Flicks

(L.A. Times) Obama Productions in association with “Funny or Die” studio are working on some 20 propaganda flicks at a cost to taxpayers of nearly $1 Million or so to help promote ObamaCare.

In July, NewsBusters reported that the Obama Administration recruited ‘Hollywood Star Power’ to sell ObamaCare especially to young people that will need to pony up and pay the freight to subsidize government run health care for older generations.

From the looks of the Obama Administrations recruitment of Mike Farah who formally has produced such thrillers as “Obama’s Kickstarter Campaign to Solve the Debt” in 2011 (how is that working out for you) to other unknown comedy classics such as “Government Shutdown” to “Stop the Environment” starring the always lovable and admitted Socialist Ed Asner, one can be sure that Obama Productions will turn out some real unmemorable Hollywood duds in coming weeks all courtesy of the American taxpayers.

In related news, according to The Washington Post President Obama last week in a lecture from the White House said that he will not negotiate with Republicans over the debt ceiling and called on them to cede the battle over ObamaCare and pass a new budget.

From the looks of all the “play money” the Obama Administration has to waste on ObamaCare propaganda flicks, there appears to be plenty of room for negotiations to reign in our nearly $17 Trillion deficit.

ObamaCare Will Raise Premiums Significantly and Limit Health Insurance Options

ObamaCare PremiumsWhat the Obama Administration Didn’t Tell You About ObamaCare Exchange Plans –Heritage Foundation

(Washington Examiner) The Obama Administration today, released a report on the costs of ObamaCare for most Americans, heralding its interpretation that 95% of the nation will be able to buy health insurance below earlier projections.

Note the words “earlier projections” that does not mean that the insurance that Americans will have to purchase or be fined, under ObamaCare will be less expensive than what one pays today before ObamaCare takes effect.

We know this because at the same time the Obama Administration was releasing their broad study, Tennessee Senator Lamar Alexander released his analysis of the report’s portion on his state Sen Alexander found that ObamaCare will cost far more than what many of his Constituents are paying today–some by as much as 190%

From Sen. Alexander’s release:

  • Today a 27 year old man in Memphis can purchase a health care plan for as low as $41 per month. On the ObamaCare exchange the lowest state’s average is $119 per month a 190% increase.
  • Today a 27 year old Woman in Nashville can purchase a health care plan for as low as $58 per month. On the ObamaCare exchange the lowest priced plan is $114 per month a 97% increase–even with a tax subsidy that plan is $104 per month, almost twice what she can purchase it for today.

On the 31 May, I wrote here that the ObamaCare/Covered California exchange will in fact increase individual market premiums by as much as 146% One of the most serious flaws with ObamaCare is the blizzard of new regulations and mandates that drive up the cost of insurance for people who buy it on their own–this problem will be especially acute when the law’s main provisions kick in on the 01 January, 2014 leading many to worry about a health insurance ‘rate shock.’

In Nashville, 105 insurance plans offered today will be unavailable in the ObamaCare exchange.

In California, the Los Angeles Times reported earlier this month that insurers in the new ObamaCare/Covered California exchange are limiting choices, raising concerns that patients will struggle to get health care.

On the 22 July, I wrote here that Anthem Blue Cross has joined a growing list of other health insurance companies that will not participate in ObamaCare/Covered California exchange.

Companies Seek to Unblock California’s 15.4B Barrels of Recoverable Shale Oil in Monterey Field

Bright Future For ND Dismal Future For CaliforniaBright Future for North Dakota Energy Revenue, Dismal Outlook for California –Image: California Political Review

(WSJ) California’s Monterey Shale formation is estimated to hold as much as 15.4 Billion barrels of recoverable offshore shale oil reserves in the United States lower 48 states or more than double the amount of  North Dakota’s prosperous Bakken Field and Three Forks formations according to the 2013 estimates by the U.S. Dept of Interior and U.S. Geological Survey.

Problems do exist in extracting the oil from layers of rock seeming as impenetrable as another, California’s rigid regulatory climate.

The latter will likely make it impossible any time soon, for California to take advantage of this new found wealth right under ones feet, despite the state’s weak economy and high unemployment, falling tax revenues, a $127+ Billion deficit and dismal consumer confidence that things will improve anytime soon.

Democrats in Sacramento together with their loony liberal lefty environmentalist wacky partners, will be willing to forgo this huge new opportunity to reverse the state’s negative and dangerous economic trends and instead will kick a gift horse in the mouth by staying on their disastrous greeny course, benefiting no one in the short and long term but will ‘feel really good’ when they pretend to ‘feel the pain’ in the suffering of others.

(Wasington Times) Vandals set fire to a life-size statue of Ronald Reagan at the Ronald Reagan Sports Park in Temecula, California–the very same site that was praised by Reagan in the 1980’s as an example of what voluntarism and fundraising can accomplish–rather than government regulation and taxpayer dollars.

Police are seeking a suspect.

The Ronald Reagan Sports Park is accepting donations needed to repair damages to the monument.

(KSTE Sacramento/Daily Caller) A police officer at Modesto Junior College told a patriotic Libertarian student that it was against (at a publicly funded) college rules for him to hand out copies of the U.S. Constitution on campus.

When was the 1st Amendment repealed?

The exchange between student Robert Van Tuinen and a campus police officer was captured on video Tuinen told the campus police officer that he wished to start a Young Americans for Liberty chapter on campus and hoped that passing out copies of the Constitution on campus would generate interest in that. The Modesto Junior College police officer however maintained, that Van Tuinen was still not permitted to distribute fliers without college authorization.

Modesto Junior College Police Officer: “Anytime anything is being passed out…you have to go through the student development office.”

Robert Van Tuinen: “Do you know what this is? Why are there rules tied to my free speech?”

The First Amendment protects the right to freedom of religion and freedom of expression which includes the right to free speech, press, assembly and to petition the government for a redress of grievances and the implied rights of association and belief without government interference.

Nevertheless, the Modesto Junior College police officer brought Van Tuinen before Administrator Christine Serrano where he was advised because of a “time, place and manner” he can only pass out literature inside the “free speech area.”

Serrano asks Van Tuinen to fill out an application and photocopy his student ID–Serrano says that she has “two people right now so you’d have to wait until either the 20th, 27th or you can go into October.”

Van Tuinen protests that he wants to pass out the Constitutions on ‘Constitution Day’ at which point Serrano tells him, “You really do not need to keep going on.”
