Texas Students See Religious Bias Where None Exists

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010

Some Texas students at Trinity University, a private school in San Antonio, are demanding that the university remove the phrase “In the year of our Lord” from there diplomas.

One Muslim student Sidra Qureshi argues, “A diploma is a very personal item and people want to proudly display it in their offices and homes. By have the phrase “In the year of our Lord” it is directly referencing Jesus Christ and not everyone believes in Jesus Christ.”

Often times controversies seem to erupt across this nation where none exists.

Ms. Qureshi, chose to attend the private San Antonio school with ties to the Presbyterian Church and should have learned a little something about American History but must have been absent for that lecture?

Our Founding Father’s certainly did not have any issue with the phrase on “…the seventeenth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty seven…” when ratifying the Constitution of the United States.

ObamaCare—Disregarding the U.S. Constitution

Wednesday, March 24th, 2010

Democrat-Socialists ignoring the Constitution pass ObamaCare with a partisan vote of 219-212 on Sunday that will explode federal spending, drive consumer medical costs through the roof and lead to health care rationing.

State Atty Generals from around the country have filed suit to block ObamaCare arguing among other things that it exceeds the power of the United States under Article 1 of the U.S. Constitution and violates the 10th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

Georgetown University Law Professor Randy E. Barnett, wrote in a Sunday Washington Post article entitled, “Can the Constitution Stop Health Care Reform?”

“If you choose to drive a car, then maybe you can be made to buy insurance against the possibility of inflicting harm on others but making you buy insurance merely because you are alive is a claim of power from which many Americans instinctively shrink…”

“We are fast approaching a tipping point where more Americans depend on the federal government than on themselves—a point where we, the American people trade our commitment and our concern for our individual liberties in exchange for government benefits and dependencies.” Rep.Paul D. Ryan, (R-WI)

Barack Obama Czars

Senate Judiciary Constitution Subcommittee will hold hearings today to scrutinize Obama’s Czars to explore whether the Czars constitute “an end run around the advice and consent process” said Sen. Russ Feingold, D-WI the sub-committee chairman.

On the 17 April, I wrote here that Sen. Robert Byrd, D-WV has criticized Obama’s appointments of so many Czar’s, saying that the Czar’s give the President too much power.

In February, Sen. Robert Byrd said that the Czar system “can threaten the Constitutional systems of checks and balances” adding that oversight of federal agencies is the responsibility of officials approved by the Senate.

Hugo Chavez: “We have to help Obama”

Tuesday, September 8th, 2009

IRAN/

Marxist President Hugo Chavez of Venezuela along side with his buddy ol’pal Iranian Fascist Ahmadinejad. Chavez used to call President Bush the Devil but says of Democrat-Socialist  President Obama, that the Totalitarian Dictators hope to work more closely with him.

Venezuela continues with their crack down on radio stations, 34 radio stations were shut down in August because they dared to broadcast news critical of the Chavez Regime, the Marxist government vows to pull the plug on 29 additional radio stations as part of their overall campaign against private media.

Sound familiar? Obama’s Chief Diversity Czar Mark Lloyd appointed to the FCC wants to get rid of Conservative talk radio by forcing private broadcasting companies to pay a licensing fee  equal to their total operating costs. What private company can remain in business if they would be required to pay a 100% “user fee” of this nature to the federal government?

Along with a 100%  user fee, “tax” paid to the government, Lloyd wants to regulate content of private media companies adding more programming to indoctrinate children on the wonders of Marxism and making sure media broadcasts programming featuring “diverse views” on government activities.

Unlike Venezuela we have the 1st Amendment which expressly prohibits the federal government from making laws which infringe on free speech and a free press. It may be beneficial for Obama Administration cronies to familiarize themselves with it, instead of attempting to circumvent the Constitution.
