(Weekly Standard) Some of the local newspapers on Martha’s Vineyard report that island goers “can expect extraordinary and lengthy detours after President Obama and his family arrive on Saturday.”
One commentator responds: ‘Obama really needs to find another place to go, he treats people here terribly.’

(Washington Examiner) The Massachusetts Island of Martha’s Vineyard–the exclusive playground for the Obama’s, is about to get their annual infusion of stimulus cash and attention when President Obama, his family and entourage arrive on the 10 August for an 8 day vacation.
Local reports indicate that ‘The Obama’s’ will likely be staying at the posh $7.6 Million resort home on the southern edge of the island in the village of Chilmark where homes feature water access, tennis courts and swimming pools.
While the president may generally keep to himself and only has a handful of staffers on this trip, 75 rooms have already been reserved for the Secret Service and White House Staffers at an average cost to taxpayers of at $225 to $345 per night.
Flashback–Less Than a Week Ago: According to USA Today President Obama told an audience at Knox College in Illinois, “I care about one thing and one thing only and that’s how to use every minute of the 1,276 days remaining in my term to make this country work for working Americans again…Where a few are doing better and better and better, while everybody else just treads water.”
(LA Daily News) To the chagrin of Michelle Obama and her federally approved school lunch menu that kids reportedly don’t like anyway, “Hostess Twinkies” made a sweet and surprising return to Southern California store shelves on Friday, three days before the official relaunch.
A pallet by the meat department at Ralphs in Chatsworths stacked with the tasty sponge cake filled delights became a popular attraction. “People are very excited and happy, we have them and ‘Ding Dongs’ in the variety pack. They are coming back as strong as ever,” said a store manager who asked not to be identified.

(Wall Street Journal) President & Mrs Obama only paid an effective tax rate of 18.4% according to the White House today. How much extra will the Obama’s voluntarily send the Internal Revenue Service to pay their “fair share?”
According to The Daily Mail the Obama’s paid a lower effective tax rate than most Americans in their income bracket.

(Daily Caller) A very courageous 5th Grade Teacher Leah Putnam of the Chicago Public Schools (CPS) wrote a scathing critique of the absurd misery that she and her students endured when they participated in a massive 28 February, event kicking off Michelle Obama’s Lets Move Active Schools campaign.
“If you are a parent, imagine you take your child on a trip and they are very excited. Now imagine they have to wait on a bus and stand in straight lines for three hours straight. Then imagine after one hour of “fun” they have to sit around and wait for three more hours that bus to pick them up. Oh, did I mention that are not allowed to have a morsel of food the entire time? Now, multiply that by 25 to 35. Sounds fun right? That’s a little bit what the day was like for CPS students, parents and teachers at the Let’s Move Campaign…”
First Lady Michelle O’s “Lets Move” campaign is an effort to improve and in some cases bring back physical education programs in some schools, the Obama Administration called the event “groundbreaking, earth shattering, awesomely-inspiring day.”

Remember when Obama Administration pledged to cut greenhouse gas emissions and urged federal workers to follow by example of the President to cut gas emissions from indirect sources such as employee travel and waste disposal by 13% by 2020

Obama Administration insists that these costs are in line to that of other President’s but considering the promises made to cut wasteful government spending and to “cut greenhouse gas emissions by federal employees” shouldn’t one expect a good Chief Executive to lead by example? Do what I say, not what I do.
