In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came to be through Him and without Him, nothing came to be. What came to be through Him was life and this life was the light of the human race, the light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it. John 1:1-5 -Image Courtesy: True Holy Face
To those who did accept Him, He gave power to become children of God, to those who believe in His name — The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us and we saw His glory, the glory as the Father’s only Son full of grace and truth. John 1:12, 14
John The Baptist’s Testimony of Jesus
The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him and said: “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world, He is the One of whom I said, ‘A Man is coming after me who ranks ahead of me because He existed before me.’ I did not know Him but the reason why I came baptizing with water was that he might be made known to Israel.”
John testified further saying, “I saw the Spirit come down like a dove from the sky and remain upon Him. I did not know Him but the One who sent me to baptize with water told me, ‘On whomever you see the Spirit come down and remain, He is the One who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’ Now I have seen and testified that He is the Son of God.” John 1:29-34
