(Angelus News) Benignus, born in Ireland and baptized by St. Patrick (415-493) the son of an Irish Chief, he became one of Bishop Patrick’s most loyal disciples, subsequently taking over as Chief Bishop of Ireland.
Bishop Benignus was a gifted singer and became well known throughout Ireland as a Psalm vocalist, thousands of conversions to Jesus are attributed to him, he would resign in 467 as he neared death and died at the end of that year.
