The Imam leading a plan to build a Mosque on Ground Zero, refused to describe Hamas as an Islamic Jihad Terrorist Organization.
According to the U.S. State Dept Hamas Terrorists especially those in the Izz al-Din al Qassam Brigade have conducted many attacks, including large scale suicide bombings against Isreal’s civilian and military targets.
Imam Faisal Abdul Rauf was asked by WABC if he agreed with the State Dept assessment, he replied, “Look, I am not a politician, the issue of terrorism is a very complex question.”
