Israel Defense Forces Remember Ariel Sharon –Image: IDF Blog
While the ‘USA Today’ doesn’t editorialize often about Israel, when it has, its been very wrong. The most recent example was Ariel Sharon’s Life a Metaphor for Israel’s: Our View published yesterday.
The ‘USA Today’ Editorial Board smears Israel and Former Prime Minister Sharon, by suggesting that our best friend in the middle east Israel’s very survival and Sharon’s contributions amount to “a lesson in whether ends justify means.” The ‘Editorial Board’ wrongly asserts that Israel “punishes” all Palestinians ‘for the actions of some’ and falsely claims the Jewish State seizes lands from Palestinians for its own settlements and blames Israel for derailing the peace process.
On the 30 December, 2010 I wrote here that although a distinct ‘Palestinian Nationalism’ is taken for granted internationally today, the notion of a Palestinian people separate and distinct from neighboring Arab’s is a relatively recent belief. In-fact former PLO Executive Committee Member Zhir Mushein (1936-1979) admitted, “There is no such thing as a Palestinian people, its just an Arab tactic for the destruction of Israel.”
Sweeping generalizations by the ‘Editorial Board’ such as ‘Sharon’s excesses increased Israel’s vulnerability’ are unsubstantiated and smacks of the same historical revisionism that the so called Palestinians–Arabs engage.
