(IBD) In a new emails released by the House Oversight Committee, that has been charged with investigating corrupt activities at the IRS targeting Conservatives and Tea Party organizations, show that Rep Elijah Cummings Democrat staff, had requested information from the IRS Director of Tax Exempt Organizations Lois Lerner regarding “True the Vote” a Texas based Conservative non-profit status application.
Letters and emails from 2012 and 2013 appear to evidence a direct coordination of information between Rep Cumming’s Congressional Office and IRS Officer Lois Lerner accused of corrupt activities and potentially violating the Hatch Act when she solicited employment opportunities with a political organization in 2013 while on government time.
In a February oversight hearing according to BizPac Review Rep Cummings claimed that any suggestion that he or his congressional staffers had put “True the Vote” on the IRS radar screen was “absolutely incorrect and untrue.”
It now is much clearer why Rep Cummings and other Democrats were insisting this investigation should be wrapped up prematurely, in order that any links to the Ranking Democrat Cummings complicity with the targeting of Conservatives & Tea Party organizations, abuse of power, together with obstructing the House Oversight Committee’s IRS investigation would not be revealed, that may result in punitive action against Rep Cummings by the House Ethics Committee and the subsequently the full House of Representatives.
